  • Kenai River, Alaska Gold Panning Prospector Rafting TripAlaska Experience
This Real Alaska Experience tour features a full day adventure combining our scenic float & an introduction to prospecting for gold.  The day begins with Prospector John, who you may have seen on various Alaska reality televesion shows!
John will teach you gold panning techniques and sluice box operations.  Then we board the raft and drift down the beautiful Kenai River to one of Johns favorite tributary streams.  There you and John walk a few hundred yards upstream to his chosen gravel bar and set up to find some gold.  We never know what to expect for gold, sometimes it is “WOW!  Look what we got!”
After you put the gold you have found into your poke, you walk back down to the river to rejoin the raft tirp.
The scenic float continues through a section of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and not only shows off the beauty of the upper Kenai River valley but also all of it’s wildlife & abundant bird life.  We often see moose or bear and almost always dall sheep and mountain goats on the ridges above the river.  Eagle nests abound so it is a rare trip when we do not see them – often young eagles are on the nest testing their wings in the middle of the summer
This serene stretch of river is fun and safe for all ages & abilities.  All gear is provided!
  • Seavey’s Iditaride Adventure
This is by far the best way to see Seward in a day, especially for those without transportation.  First, take in the faschinating history and breathtaking beauty as your guide shows you the sights of Seward, known as “The Gateway to Alaska” and “Mile 0” of the Iditarod Trail.  See first hand the effects of the 1964 earthquake and stand in awe of the mountain that is home to the second oldest foot race in the United States
Then, head out to Exit Glacier in the Kenai Fjords National Park.  A short walk along the nature trail takes you to the face of the glacial Ice.  Watch for mountain goats, moose or bear on the montainside.  During the salmon runs, see salmon swimming upstream to spawn.  A hearty lunch will be served at nearby ressuraction roadhouse before you travel to the Seavey homestead and experience IdidaRide’s 1.5 hour wilderness dog sled ride and tour.  At the end of this fun-filled day, your driver will return you.  Tour is fully guided by a long time Alaskan.
