Depart from Girdwood airport via helicopter for a 15 minute scenic flight up through Girdwood’s mountainous falley. Arrive at punchbowl glacier and meet your musher and his enthusiastic Alaska Huskies!! You will be educated about the dogs, driving a dog team, a musher’s lifestyle, and the famous Iditarod Trail.

Real Alaska Day Tour

Take in the sights and history of scenic seward. See first hand the effects of the 1964 earthquake, and stand in awe of Mount Marathon that is home to the second oldest foot race in the United States. Afterward, head out to exit glacier int he Kenai Fjords National Park, take a short walk along the nature trail while watching for wildlife. You will then be served a hearty lunch at the nearby Resurrection Roadhouse before you travel to the Seavey Homestead to experience Ididarides 1.5 hour Wilderness Dog Sled Ride/Tour. This Tour is fully guided by a long time Alaskan and all expenses are included.
Iditarod Wilderness Dog Sled Ride and Tour

Your adventure begins with a 2 mile dog sled ride. Feel the power, and excitement and energy of the amazing sled dogs as they are harnessed to the comfortable wheeled sleds. Mush through the Alaskan Wilderness to the base of Resurrection Mountain and along Box Canyon Creek. Your guide with explain how they train and steer the dogs, and tell stories from the trail. Upon return to the kennel, tour the beautiful facilities and laugh as a guest is dressed up as an Iditarod Musher! Cuddle with the adorable husky puppies, and enjoy humorous behind the scene look at the Seavey Family’s training for the most demanding race on Earth!
